Company Name, catch phrase and logo

Brand name: Simple Music

Older users will have memory issues and might struggle with names that are long or complex. The brand Simple Music is very clear, easy to remember and uncomplicated. It describes exactly what it is and exactly what it does in two simple words. Older users might have anxiety before downloading an app that they will be overwhelmed/frustrated and not be able to successfully navigate or get bombarded with ads and accidentally buy something. Immediately this name puts the user at some ease that they might successfully navigate the app. This name has a domain available and no trademarks on file. I do know that Simply Music is an LLC, but have no trademarks and I am unsure of the effect this would have on my name.

Catch phrase: Less buttons, more music.

This catch phrase is again very simple. It quickly explains that the app is simple, different and how the user benefits from its differences. Older folks have decreased neuroplasticity. Decreasing the mental processing necessary to absorb new information will make the phrase more likely to stick and make sense.

Logo (I will update with a virtual colored one! I forgot to get it off the computer while at school)

Again, the logo follows the theme of simple. Older people often are loosing their eyesight and might also get lost in a screen full of apps. This logo is large, simple and quickly easy to understand. A music note is one of the most universal symbols of music. One could forget this app exists, see it again and immediately know that it is music. The eighth note was chosen because it is more recognizable with its tail at the end, able to be the enlarged the most within the space of the app icon square and represents a very simple short note that has big impact just like our app.

I had many different prototypes for names, catchphrases and logos, but narrowed it down using user research with my parents. Unfortunately I did not have access to a larger user population for testing.
